2025:

SAVE THE DATE - SATURDAY, SEPTEMBER 6th Roamin Angels CAR SHOW!

Snapshots: Past Toy Drives

For over two decades, the Roamin Angels have worked in conjunction with the Salvation Army to give the local children and their families a Merry Christmas. Though we can’t have a regular toy drive, inventive minds prevailed to make sure that this year is just as special. The toy drive for 2020 was done in conjunction with the Marines Toys For Tots program.

Snapshots: The Grand Canyon Trip

This was such a fun trip to the Grand Canyon. Memories of people now gone, but never forgotten. That is what is important is to appreciate all the days we are together, but, if we can not be physically together at the least keep in touch. Thanks for the memories. It was one of the Roamin Angels road trips back a few years ago. It’s nice to remember! – Paula B.

Club Plaque Transformed

Years ago I purchased an aluminum club plaque from a member. It was just plain aluminum and quite heavy.  I have had it for years.  Elaine has a very artistic friend and I thought it might be nice if she could actually paint the plaque in what I think are the correct colors and she agreed. Just got the plaque back and I was really pleased with the results. I am not sure I have seen another quite this nice over the years and in fact, have not seen many…

Part II: What I Did During Covid-19

Continuing Projects: I just finished another dashboard, this one is from a 1953 Pontiac. It was a gift from Wayne D. and was mostly all there. I had to buy an ash tray and the speaker surround on Ebay. The knobs I made using my 3d printer. I stepped up and had the correct color paint mixed at Knights Paint. It is called Santa Fe Red and is about the color of tomato juice. I enjoy restoring these old dashboards, I have several more to do. But, I am running…

Amazing Transmission Shop In Colfax

My wife, Kris, and I bought a 1962 Thunderbird in Manteca.  I had acquired a 2002 Corvette prior to that, so Kris was interested in getting a classic car.  Due to the owner’s health issues, the Thunderbird had not been driven for years.  It had been started occasionally.  We got the Thunderbird for an outstanding price.  Even if the drive train needed to be replaced, we would still be way ahead of the value of the car.  The engine proved to be sound, however the transmission seemed to be leaking…

Career Technology Education – Mentoring Help Needed

As most of you are aware, I’ve spent a few years involved with the High School district in reviving their Career Technology Education programs. CTE is the new name for ROP which most everyone remembers. Think auto shop, Ag Mechanics, Ag Science, Welding, and Culinary arts just to name a few. I’m a big believer in hands on education whether it’s any of the above or Bio Physics. I need your help. Nevada Union is looking for a mentor to help with Auto shop senior projects. Briefly, you’ll meet a…
