Christy’s Barn Party – June 2, 2019

This year the weather cooperated, it was only in the 80’s.  The Band this year was Solstice, a local Nevada City band.  They played classic rock out of the late 70’s and 80’s.  Everyone loved the music and a lot of dancing was going on. I’ve already booked them for next years party. They were great.

We had a lot of help with putting on the party.  The helpers that laid out the dance floor were: Bob and Colleen N. and Bruce and Lynne K. It was a warm day and we all were perspiring and drinking lots of water.

Christy and Mr. Goodwrench welcome guests to the Barn Party.

The day of the party was beautiful.  Clear Skies with a slight breeze.  Pat and Richard G. showed up early to help set up tables and chairs, decorate and do some food prep for the hamburgers and hot dogs. They were joined by Steve and Paula B. and Fred and Pam D.  The hamburger grilling couple were none other than Ken and JoAnn B.  Everyone love the grilling they did.

We started about 1 PM.  We had an early old time band playing on the piano and fiddle. Their group was called “Crabapples”. Great music to dine to.  The potluck dishes were the usual great.  People really take some time to make their favorite dish to share.  I figure the Ken and JoAnn grilled about 129 hamburgers and hot dogs.  No one went hungry.

We had a good collection of special interest vehicles on display.  People came from the bay area, Santa Barbara and Carson City.  Bud and Edie H. did their usual good job of taking photos of the event.

As the afternoon tapered off, the usual gang helped stack the chairs and tables and clean up.  It is just not possible to do this party by myself.  So, I appreciate all the help I get from the Roamin Angels. I had a bum knee, so I couldn’t do much, not dancing or running around.
