Who are these strange angels
who slide in and out of my life
bringing deep thoughts
connected to feelings

did I ask these strange angels
to do this task
to inform me
to show me the error of my ways
to poke prod me out of my stupor

when I think
“I’m Awake”
they say
“think again”

then I look across the room
and see
each of us a strange angel
disconnected from some source
roaming the world
looking for the unknowable

seeking solace in each other’s
Pain
Pleasure
Perserverance
Passion
Purpose

Oh to be free
free of seeking

is that the end of existence
or the beginning of Reality

Dear strange angels
stay near
be my guides
help me trust
