Good Things Happen When Good People Step Up

Good things happen in the Community, in this Nation, in this World when good people step up.  For 60+ years now the Roamin Angels Car Club has been stepping up in support of its’ community and neighbors.  For about 25 years we have staged “Cruisin’ the Pines”, our classic car show, that has attracted visitors and cars from literally around the world. Previously, the shows have been staged at the Nevada County Fairgrounds. Typically we’ve hosted some 4,000 visitors, 600 – 700 cars yearly, and many, many vendors and local non…

Kudos and Announcements – May 2023

Fellow Roamin Angels…. I just wanted to offer my deepest appreciation for the Club’s participation in this past weekend’s Car event at the Veterans Hall.  The goal of raising funds for the local Scouts and supporting Active Military families was just blown away successfully!  You are a large component (as usual) of supporting America’s future and active Military and their families currently serving to protect that investment. Congrats to Dale or being the Boy and Girl Scout’s favorite car and winning Mr. Yedding’s handmade prize. Again,  you guys and Gals…

Car Club Survey
Roamin Angels Cruisin the Pines Car Show

Over the last few weeks, I have been in contact with about two dozen California car clubs.  The list of California car clubs that I received online is not 100% complete, but it gave me enough information to enable me to contact clubs with a similar makeup as the Roamin’ Angels.  Some of the men and women I talked with were a little apprehensive in the beginning, but soon they warmed up when I told them why I was calling – to discuss declining membership and what to do about…

Ray and Joe’s Grand (Ad)venture

Ray and Joe are amazing men. Besides being one of our club’s past presidents, Ray’s a writer and wood worker. One of his newest projects is manzanita/wood canes. Could you use some walking assistance? Ray is offering his custom walking canes to help all his fellow Veterans. Ray asks that you make a donation to the American Legion’s Post 130. Post 130 will in turn use those funds in support of Veterans. Ray will have his canes at the April 15th  “Cars, Karaoke and Kids”. Speaking of the “Cars, Karaoke…

Around Our Community

How Do We Service Our Senior Veteran Community? by American Legion Adjutant Mike Hauser During the last few weeks of 2022 some brainstorming sessions were held to discuss how best to communicate with seniors. The informal meetings, held at Gold Country Senior Services, were attended by various Veteran organizations, Gold Country, The Nevada County Veterans service office, the UNION, KNCO, Yuba Net, The Grass Valley Chamber and a number of other interested organizations. What became obvious was that communicating with the County’s senior population was a challenge for everyone. Seniors…
