Drive By for WWII Pilot Veteran Dub Holland’s 100th birthday

Yesterday I had the honor of thanking a true American Hero during Dubs 100th birthday drive-by.  He served in the Army Air Corp as a B-17 pilot over Europe.  These men had a 50/50 chance of making it back after a mission.  They had to fly at least twenty-four missions over heavily armed targets.

We arrived at the facility a little after 2PM with a crowd waiting outside in the entry way.  Dub had not yet come out so we had to wait a few minutes.   When he did come out, they sat him at the end of the entry right next to where we would be driving through.  He is in great shape for being 100!  I got to talk to him a minute and thanked him for his service.

We had about 15 cars, some from our club, some from the Lincoln Hills Sports Car Club and the VFW and one from the Roamin Angels.  A few just drove their personal cars to stay out of the smoke.  I want to thank each and every one of you that showed up to honor a true hero.  There aren’t many of these guys left.
