The 23rd Annual 'Cruisin the Pines' Car Show is September 7, 2024...registration is open now!

Roamin Angels – Drive And Survive™

Thanks to the support of the Office of Traffic Safety and CHP we have completed the Online CA Parent-Teen GDL Module, as well as continue to offer free evidence-based programs via webinars for teens, parents, student leaders, and those looking to learn how to facilitate our programs in schools next year.

Please share the new Online CA Parent-Teen GDL Module with appropriate audiences (see url link below). I am also requesting that if you can spare some time to take the module that you do so, or share it with a loved one that has a teen about to start the driving process or in the driving process. This will allow you to have first-hand knowledge of the usefulness, feel, and hopefully ease of use. Also, the new module (as well as our other online programs) meet the Department of Education California Health Standards of Injury Prevention and Safety—so please share with your school/parent contacts.

Two Sessions: 8:30am – 11:30am / 10am – 1:30pm

• Hands-on driving Participants must possess a valid California driver’s license or permit.

• Hands-on driving Participants must bring the vehicle they would normally drive. The vehicle used must be registered and insured.

• Participants are required to bring their parent(s) or guardian(s) to participate in the training.

• Guests and observers of all ages are welcome.

All training will take place at Grass Valley’s Public Safety Training Center. Student Drivers will complete a series of pit stops where a specific subject will be introduced. The Driving portion of the training will have a top speed of 25 mph. This is a day concentrating on skills reinforcing driver awareness, NOT SPEED.

The first Pit Stop will be a mandatory vehicle safety inspection performed free of charge in conjunction with the student, vehicle owner, parent/Guardian.

Students wishing to attend but not able to participate in hands on are welcome to the classroom sessions free of charge.

The California Highway Patrol will facilitate an “Impact Teen Drivers” Parent-Teen Workshop for classroom training. “Impact Teen Drivers” is a Non Profit dedicated to teaching teens, parents, and other influencers that we can stop the #1 killer of teens–car crashes–by empowering parents and teens with the knowledge they need. Parents come learn what you need to know to prepare your teen to be the safest and most conscientious and prepared driver they can become.

Each teen participant will receive a certificate of course completion. Please consult your Insurance representative as to how and if the completion of this course may afford you benefits under your insurance plan.

Parking space is extremely limited in the immediate area outside the pad. Please plan on parking street side or in one of the lots nearby. Participants should move their vehicles to the pad entry AFTER their Classroom session.
