Our heroine learned to drive a stick with this “Blue Leader” (name of the buggy) VW dune buggy.
Over 50 years ago, her family was at Glamis Sand Dunes in the Imperial Valley near the Salton Sea. Her Dad threw her the keys and gave her a shovel and told her to go and take her little sister with her and figure out how to drive a clutch. She learned but this wasn’t her oops…it was her dad’s. Nice going, now what?
Several years and I mean SEVERAL YEARS later, another Roamin Angel, Den R, purchased “Blue Leader” and still owns it to this today.
