Ray and Joe’s Grand (Ad)venture

Ray and Joe are amazing men. Besides being one of our club’s past presidents, Ray’s a writer and wood worker. One of his newest projects is manzanita/wood canes.

Could you use some walking assistance? Ray is offering his custom walking canes to help all his fellow Veterans. Ray asks that you make a donation to the American Legion’s Post 130. Post 130 will in turn use those funds in support of Veterans. Ray will have his canes at the April 15th  “Cars, Karaoke and Kids”.

Speaking of the “Cars, Karaoke and Kids” Kick off event for the Scouts Recycled Roadsters project… Ray and his friend and club member, Joe W. have been busy making wooden car kits. The car kits will be given to each Scout contestant at the Recycled Roadsters event. The finalized date is still to be determined.

Four of the Scout entries at the first Recycled Roadsters project on display at the 2022 Roamin Angels Car Show.

If you were at the 2022 Roamin Angels Car Show you may have had the pleasure of checking out the Recycled Roadsters created by the local Boy and Girl Scouts. Well, it’s happening again. Susan Barry, Diane Blakley and Girl Scout Team leader, Becky Gillespie, are heading up the project again this year and the kids are already excited! It’ll be interesting to see what they come up with.

There is a special thank you that goes out to Ray and Joe – big kids themselves- for giving the Recycled Roadsters committee some great unique giveaways… donated, recycled wood car kits in either a ‘bug’ car or monster truck that the kids can sand, glue, put together and decorate, for fun… and they roll. It’s definite inspiration! What do you think!?
