Toy Drive 2019

The Roamin Angels take the motto ‘the show must go on’ very seriously…even in a blustery, cold, rain storm.

The 30th Annual Roamin Angels Toy Drive happened on December 7th but it was anything other than ‘business as usual’. In the past, the club has had some pretty tricky weather for the toy drive – snow, wind, rain – but this time Mother Nature had plans of her own with almost a combination of all three.

The first set up at 8am set the pop-up tents flying with the wind gusts onto McKnight Way. Pam Dias spoke with the manager at Kmart and he graciously allowed the club to set up under the overhang.

In spite of all the sogginess, windiness and rain, nothing could dampen the die-hard Roamin Angels, Santa (played by Ken Basile) and people coming by to donate gifts for distribution by the Salvation Army to Nevada County families in need.

Please bring your completed Family Bags to the Veterans Building on Tuesday, December 17th after 10:30 am.  You can also add to your families with the toys and items from the Toy Drive.

All of the Club Members are invited to come and help out on Wednesday December 18th, 9:30 am. That’s our Toy Distribution Day – the Families will come to pick up the Items you have shopped for. It is very rewarding to watch the Families.  Come and enjoy the Morning with us and maybe lend a helping hand.  This is at the Veterans Building on South Auburn St. 9:30 am on Wednesday, Dec 18th. Thank you so very much for making our 40 Families HAPPY.  – Contact Pat Gruwell with questions.
