MISSION STATEMENT: To restore and maintain classic cars and street rods in a way that brings people together, preserves vintage vehicles and contributes to the community.

The Future and Now – What Part Do You Play?

Drivers TrainingLast month we talked about exciting the kids about our wheels by helping them use theirs. As stated, we will be providing lunch and treats at the Grand Opening of the new Condon Park Skate Park. While classic car space is very limited, word has gone out to the Car community at large and I think it will be a good day to stir up interest. The local Skate Club is pushing out news far and wide so we also have the opportunity to talk about “Cruisin’ the Pines” to more than locals.

Long time members know that fellow member Gary Dodds was a key component and factor in the origins of the skate board. That should also draw some interest and maybe a little media curiosity.

The flip side of the coin is the skate boarders will be at our September show to help us draw families and kids in to see them perform and what we do.

I’ve been in extended conversations with NJUHSD trying to help them in their efforts to re establish Driver Ed. It blew them away when I shared info on our “Survive the Drive” program back in the day. They now want to duplicate it! They want our instructing help. The District was donated about 80 acres on which they want to set up a drive course. They have offered to get our volunteers certified to teach hands on. I’m working with them to bring in a few “Drive Training Stations” for display and use at our show to pump all this up.

There’s two main points to all this :
#1 Attract community & cars to the 2026 of “Cruisin’ the Pines” car show
#2 Support the kids and community. If we don’t stir up interest in our toys and the Roamin’ Angels then our toys loose value. Uber and Tesla will not buy our cars. Kids that know how to drive will. The Club needs fresh people and ideas to stay linked with the community.

All Good!

Lastly:
#1 Volunteer for the Skate Park lunch on 4/18/26
#2 Volunteer for the Grass Valley Car show on 4/25/25
#3 Armed Forces Day with Rides and fun will be back at the airport on 5/16/26 and your car is free to enter
#4 Volunteer 9/5/26 To help at “Cruisin’ the Pines”. Not asking for a lot of time just some assistance in selling [the Club] and “Cruisin’ the Pines” 2026.

The first 2026 car show meeting is March 24, 4pm, Grass Valley Vets Hall. I’ve invited reps from all the above to come so as a team we can plan and put the WOW! In all this ….
