‘Selling’ Grass Valley

Thanks to all for attending the second “Cruisin’ the Pines” 2026 show planning meeting.
Some hot dragsters will be a great component of the show. Think of Boats with wheels … Think mostly about the noise!

Gary B. had lunch recently with a group of owners to begin to work out details and timing. Those owners will provide us with photos and verbiage so we can create marketing material so Gary can attract sponsors and they can attract a crowd.

We had some really good “Kid” news from various sources. The Skaters, the parents, the Skate Club, The City of Grass Valley were very grateful for our support of the Park and the hobby. Repeatedly thanks were called in or relayed from the days attendees.

Those of you that remember “Survive the Drive” which was a driving safety day we staged for 4 years, remember “Impact Teen Drivers”. They are a Nation wide non-profit that supports such efforts, locally work with the CHP and routinely attended our “Cruisin’ the Pines”. They’ll be back in 2026 to help us push the Drivers ED rebirth.

Lisa from the NUHSD shared with us that 2 Drivers ED stations had been purchased thanks to funds raised. We want to make sure the 3rd is secured and even more would be good.

Lastly, [in the video] Mikey was about 11 when he began helping park cars at the show. Mikey and Mike (me) rode around in the cart, he helping solve problems. Great Kid. Mikey stated in the video I shared at the meeting that he wanted to fly in the Air Force. Mikey has been accepted to the Air Force academy. Yes, the Roamin Angels can make dreams come true with these toys.

We’ll begin work on the mechanics of Show content and work that out for the next meeting May 26th. You’re invited!

Grass Valley’s Downtown Car show was a success and packed the downtown. We had people join the Club!
The observations? Out of the almost 300 cars about 20% had never attended. 5% were from areas not close. 10% were cars and models you’ve never seen at a show. AND there were many-many-many YOUNG families. Many kids 6 and under. Many toured with their car crazy Dogs.

Thanks to the volunteers. GVDA really appreciates your help in ‘selling’ this community.
