Got to cruise down to Lincoln for the Rods and Relics show with Rick and Margie, Danny and Nikki. They are great folks and I really enjoyed spending the afternoon with them. The show was awesome and there was a large crowd as usual there.
As you know it is a big show and takes up 6 full blocks of the downtown neighborhood. It is well organized and the have a a lot of volunteers. They do a great job. It must be very difficult parking all those cars in a neighborhood in the downtown streets. They have it down pretty well though and have been doing it for a long time.I did not get a precise count but was told by an official that there was over 400 cars. Many high quality builds. The weather was good… not to hot.
I have been noticing many more younger people at shows and cruises lately. I hope this is a good sign for the classic car hobby. I know it is difficult for young people to get into this hobby, It is expensive to buy and maintain our cars, and it is tough for young people, especially those just starting out or a young couple with children. I do think they seem to be interested in getting into it though.
