Roamin Angels Car Show Update

Thursday, May 15, 2025 • American Legion Dining Hall • Report by Mike  Hauser
Next Meeting is June 18th, 4:30pm-5:30pm at the Vets Bldg Dining Room. Come on by.

Gary Apple is one of the bigger creative car nuts I’ve ever met. Those of you that have been in the Club for a bit can remember back to the days when we routinely toured Gary’s & other shops after our breakfasts. Your jaw would just drop seeing what Gary was building, essentially from scratch. Back in the day when we were doing Downhill Kart racing in Nevada City, Gary built the winning …. Absolute pieces of art…. Gary will be bringing some very creative pieces to the 2025 Cruisin’ the Pines.

Art & Car Shows?

Cars are art. Boats are art. Cycles are art. Trailers are art. Driving is art.

Susan [Barry] will have a great art display this year in the main building. Artists can enter their art for $10 and have a chance of not only becoming a prize winner but also be able to sell their creations.

We want the kids and families to be involved. The Scouts will be managing the specific cars that kids can climb in and get a picture. We’ll have some interesting fun backdrops as well that will make for great fun photos.

There will also be a couple of pieces of Media available for anyone and everyone to be creative on. The surface is transparent and light from the rear will be a component of the piece. We’ll wind up with art that ummm….glows… and represents a variety of components. Drop by and add your talent.

Since last month we’ve had numerous organizations sign on for participation in the show. The Motorcycle Toy Run, various Nevada County components, Entertainer Linda and the CHP who will bring a museum vehicle piece or more. All Good.
