Auburn, August 16: Great turnout for the Mels show, 170 cars this year. I believe they had 150 last year. It was a great day with the weather cooperating nicely, not to hot with a little breeze. A great show all in all. A good contingent of my esteemed Roamin Angels attended. Pat and Richard, Steve and Paula, Bill and Karin were there to represent the club. I hope I didn’t leave anyone out. The Cool Gang from Cool won most paticipation though with 27 cars. There was lots of cool raffel prizes and full goodie bags for the participants. Everyone seemed to really have a great time.
There was a memorial for Skip after the show in the back room which Mels has now renamed “Skips Garage”. Many of his friends and family attended and filled the back room. They shared their stories of good times with Skip. There is a very nice picture of him on the new sign (wish it was one of mine, but thats ok) I was proud that they did use some of my pics in the video they used at the ceremony. He was a great man and a great friend and will be sorely missed.
