I’ve relayed to the Club about us sponsoring honors for Ray Yedding by creating a banner about his service as part of Grass Valley’s “Honoring Hometown Heroes” program. Simply drive down Auburn St and you’ll see what I’m talking about.
I got a message from the City letting me know about yet another submission to the program.
When I read the name I froze and was amazed once again that what this Club does pulls this community together.
Dan’s story helped motivate the kids and families at our last Driving safety day some 10+ years ago. He will help again to help us make sure NUHSD’s driver’s ED program happens and is successful This message was sent to Dan’s Mom and Sister and copied to the City ..,
“As you may be aware, I wear many hats in this life. I’m wearing 2 now, Car Club and American Legion.
After Bear River kids were killed in a car accident some years ago, the Roamin Angels Car Club organized to produce a teen safe driving course that ran at capacity for some 4 years ending with COVID-times. The last event honored Dan and used his story to hammer to kids the importance of safe driving. Brynda attended the last event and spoke directly to the kids and the parents in attendance.
Brynda’s story was emotional and hit home with all.
The Roamin Angels would be honored to sponsor Dan’s banner.
NUHSD is on its way to bringing back Drivers Ed. The Club is doing all it can to help and call attention to the needs. In fact, today we will hold another meeting to make this happen. I will relay Dan’s story to all.”

Let’s make the September ‘Cruisin’ the Pines” yet another success, Staging this event helps us help the community in so many ways. The above is only one of them.
Interested in honoring someone you know with a banner?
This program applies to all active and Veterans with ties to Nevada County. This has been so positive that I need to speak with the City about allocating more space. If you have someone you would like to honor with a banner, I need a photo …preferably in uniform…and basic service info. A double sided banner is $150. Single side $75.
