Every year, since 9/11, Chris Sneed (aka "Flash") climbs the craggy peak on Hwy 50 between Spooner Summit and Carson City, Nevada, to replace the tattered, w...Joe picked up his $200 this morning. "This was the first time I've ever won any money!!!! Had a great time! It was fun getting out and seeing places... some I've never been into. GREAT BEER & FOOD at Thirsty Barrel!!!!!!"
At 2pm Friday the weather channel had it raining Saturday. Judy from Big "A" was by as well as Don the Alta Sierra Home owners president so they drew the "Poker Cruise" winner Friday. Congrats to Joe Weathers '69 Barracuda for winning the $200. Posters are underway and will be ready soon. See you Saturday at Cars and Coffee.
We'll try and announce the winner at Cars & Coffee this Saturday. It's supposed to rain.....and we need the rain!!!.....so if it does we'll go to plan "B" and notify the winner by phone. It's a Win-Win situation. Had a great turn out. Raised some money for the merchants and the GVDA. Stay tuned. More adventures in the works.

Grass Valley's own Lou Conter, one of two surviving members of the USS Arizona attack at Pearl Harbor December 7th 1941, is having his 99th birthday. Arrangements have been made to fly a drone over Saturday's Cars and Coffee so we can be videoed wishing Lou the best and honoring his service.
Bring an American Flag and be ready to show one of the Best Generations the honors he deserves. The video will be presented to Lou on his Birthday the 12th of September.
It's all HIS!!! fault.......that Cars and Coffee every Saturday in the SPD GV parking lot is such a success. Way to go Mr. Coca Cola!
