Corvette Express Show

Corvette Express Show • October 12: I went to the Corvette Show at Corvette Express in Vacaville on Saturday. Lots of beautiful dressed up Vettes to take in. They [sort of] remind me of girls on Prom night. Dressed up ‘to the nines’ with all the accessories and bling that you can imagine. Incredible amounts of chrome and airbrushed paint especially in the engine compartments. ‘High end expensive wheels and tires, carbon fiber, air scoops, exhaust diffusers and so many parts I didn’t even know that were made for Vettes. These guys and gals really know how to do them up. In my day, we hot rodded up the engine and trans. The newer Corvettes come from the factory with 500 or 600 horsepower, they didn’t need to hot rod the engines, although you still could with turbo and super charging, and electronic tuning for higher output. The 2025 Vettes now come from the factory with 1064 horsepower and can do a 9-second quarter mile–The fastet production American car ever made.  Some of the older Vettes had some engine work done from talking with a few of the owners. The show had 95 cars and the people who ran it were very nice and very happy with the show. It was a good time and my Vette did well, as we came home with a trophy for 2nd place in my class. It was a good day! – Your Roving Reporter, Don
