We had a great meeting in late January with members of “Nevada County Skate” which is all about Skate Boarding, the City of Grass Valley which will be opening its’ redone skate park, the City of Nevada City which will be building a new skate park and our club members who were in on the birth of today’s skate board. “Hot Boards and Hot Rods” is the idea. If you were at the club’s ‘pik nik’ at Condon Park last Fall you likely saw the kids coming down from the temporary rink and stopping to visit and admire our Rods parked in the BBQ area. Several of them asked questions and yak’ed  with us owners. The lights went on. How can we connect with these kids? How can we show them our hot wheels and stir their interest? Their hobby has a huge base. How can we appeal to it

Ambulances, fire engines, water tenders, command vehicles, rescue units—everything with wheels—has been paid for with funding from the Penn Valley Fire Auxiliary. CAR CLUB PLAQUES: At one time in the past, you may have contacted me with a question or comment about a car club plaque that was on my website. And some of you may have contributed a photo of a plaque you have, or had. This month I added 43 new photos to my website and I now have over 12,000 car club plaque photos on my website. Many of what I’m finding now are on posted on a Facebook group I joined and I’m finding them faster than I can edit and add them

By: The Roving Reporter, Don January 11, 2026: It sems like there are alot of shows and cruises starting in May. The Oro Dam Cruisers show in Oroville I believe the 16th and 17th of May. I spoke with Rob at Humpty Dumptys and he says that he will have the cruise-in nights starting in May also. The Auburn Cruise night will start in May. I haven’t heard of anything in April yet, but I will let you know. There is still Cars and Coffee on Saturdays, of course. It has been a little chilly in the morning and we have had a lot of rain, but we head to the donut shop to warm and coffee up. Once the sun comes up it is not to chilly. Happy New Year! Saturday began like any other late-summer morning in Arbuckle, quiet streets and a faint hum of almond harvesters shaking their crop. The sound of engines broke the stillness. One by one, gleaming Studebakers rolled into town, their polished chrome catching the sun as they lined up along 5th Street. They had come not just to mark International Drive Your Studebaker Day, but to honor a place woven deep into the town’s past: Atran’s Garage, once the oldest Studebaker dealership. At 204 5th Street, the façade still bears the weight of its history.
